I never went to the hospital, but after my usual regimen of trying to get over it by just resting, I went to the doctor and got an antibiotic. I started feeling a little better every day for about a week, but it still kept me feeling listless for almost two months.

Those darn steroids....I had LOTS of troubles when I had to take the max dose for over 2 months in the 70's....so wasn't too tickled to have to take them again this time, BUT then again, I do like breathing, so will just have to deal with it....But the dose this time is no where near as long...hospital shots, and will take pills for the next 4 weeks...then hopefully, all gone and no more problems. Next time, I'll listen harder, that's for sure! <ggg>

sandintoes, and the risk of seeming to practice medicine over the Internet, I will say that several years ago I had what seemed to be a lot like what you and KLP are describing. Doc gave me a Z-Pak (Zithromax, azithromycin), and whatever I had at the time seemed to munch happily and thrive and laugh in the face of the Z-Pak. For others, the Z-Pak works medical miracles. In other words, you may take heart that yours was not the only bug that did not succumb to the mighty Z-Pak. - Holly
