That's a powerful article that draws many similarities between the US and pre-WWII Germany. I have often wondered how the German people got swept into the Nazi disaster. They seem to be normal, hardworking sorts that are much like Americans. A couple years ago I spent two weeks working with the Germans in northern Germany. They were wonderful people and I couldn't help but wonder how they happened to follow Hitler into the abyss. With a growing sense of panic I have watched some US citizens follow Bush into the "danger zone".
