Ted, how many of these doctors simply prescribe the medications just to mask out the problems with ADD? That's what I call "lazy doctoring" and "lazy parenting."

I am not sure that many of these kids even have ADD or ADHD. Boys have a tendency to be overactive normally. Its seems when a boy gets particularly overactive or a girl; someone prescribes medication for them.

I'm sure "big evil pharmaceutical companies" are also behind this, but the responsibility ultimately lies with the doctors and the parents themselves.

An LA psychologist once told me that a well known Beverly Hills attorney brought his son in for treatment. It seems the kid wet his pants in class. The attorney told the therapist he had two months to get him well. At the end of the two months, his kid was still wetting his pants. The BH attorney then demanded medication.

Some parents can't cope or don't want to cope with any problems stemming from their kids. So oftentime, its the parents wanting medications prescribed for their kids. Its unfortunate they choose to have children.
