Probably not. I'm hoping some kind of Japanese-like scenario
works here for the burst of the credit bubble. Everyone over there was
chilling out and happy, while some high level banking and
government officials through themselves off buildings.
Some folks who took out exotic mortgages will be in trouble,
for others it will be business as usual. I'm sure the Fed will
do everything in its power to stop the pain. Japan
had a pretty bad bubble in the 90-s, but I think we've got one
that's a lot worse. On the other hand, I think their RE bubble
was a lot worse.
