much extra cash was coming in from the new gst versus the original tax it replaced? Not crap fresc.. The GST was a huge revenue boost and fairer tax (if any tax is fair)

I'm not defending the PC's on the economy. I'm just saying that giving the Liberals credit for it is PURE CRAP err.. well maybe not pure.. it's Liberal CRAP after all ;o)

The GST revenue naturally increased with improved economics later on... as we came out of recession... see Economics 101 please :O)

of course you will say the source I cite to be lies all lies LOL robnicholson.ca
Harper observed that while the Liberals were in power the amount of GST taken from Canadians has doubled, from $15.9 billion to $31.8 billion. The increase exceeded inflation and outstripped growth in people's earnings. Were the old Manufacturers' Sales Tax in place, it would only generate $24 billion, far less than the Liberals are taking from Canadians with the GST.

Martin made the tough decisions! He cut the transfers. Secured CSL from paying fair taxes (adding to Canadian umemployment LOL) and took ALL the credit.. NOWHERE DOES HE GIVE CREDIT WHERE DUE LIKE ANY GOOD General would do... More like a 3rd world dictator... he wrapped himself in the flag and took all the credit.. guts and glory... our guts... his glory...
