I recently came across a good quote.

The CPI should be a consumer price index and not a consumer survival index.

Good quote, folks seem to be confusing the increasing prices with being solely related to a different lifestyle. I'm sure I could find a way to live on exactly the same level of expenditure every month, but if rising prices force me to make lifestyle choices that are different than those I started with, that does not mean (to me at least) that there is no inflation. Rather, it implies I'm good at scrambling around and making the best out of a tougher situation. That's two different things altogether.
