Respond to of 49990 >>You will no doubt live a long and healthy life so if I were you I would cancel any type of insurance either medical or life and go spend the money on a nice vacation.<< Ahhh yes, try to make the other person feel small and stupid about their stance by making some silly stupid analogy, that might work, right???? WRONG. The left loves to rail Bush for infringing on their freedoms. It's gotten so bad now that you can't pick up your phone and call your Al Qaeda buddy in Afghanistan to plot the killing of 1000's of Americans. The left cries: "we can't limit freedoms, Bush is doing something illegal" , on and on ad nauseum. The threat is real, Al Qaeda wants to kill you indiscriminately, they proved it on 9/11. Yet, the same folks that are upset that they can't call their Al Qaeda friend Habeeb, in Afghanistan without fear of being wiretapped are very willing to give up their freedoms to the government in the name of "global warming". And the government will tell you what to drive, how to heat your house, what temperature you can set your thermostat to all in the name of global warming. And make no mistake that the same groups that tried to take that control with their stance that we were causing the ice age back in the 70's are rolling the dice the other way now. Are you sure they're right? Then please tell me how Mars is warming right now? Could it be that that thing sitting 93,000,000 miles away from us has cycles too? Please also tell me how we humans caused the cyclic warming from the last ice age 10,000 years ago? Was it the caveman's SUV? And also what is the impact of global warming, will I be able to live and farm in further Northern and Southern latitudes? Why are you so willing to give up your freedoms in the name of global warming, which is a change that we cannot control, but not give up your freedom to dial up Habeeb, without running the risk of being wiretapped? The threat of you being killed by terrorist is REAL. And if you don't think the government will tell you what you can do, consider this: Smoking bans are popping up all over the country. Here in Colorado, if you were a bar owner and you wanted to allow your patrons to smoke, that freedom may be taken from you by the government in the near future; Child protection: because of government imposed safety regulations, my 10 and 8 year old children cannot ride in the front seat of my car because of regulation and the risk of being injured or killed by the government imposed passenger airbag, yet my whole life I was allowed to ride in the front seat. Also, they have changed the regulation 3 times (since I moved here as to when I can legally remove my child from a child safety seat. The latest rule is so ridiculous that my mother-in-law barely qualifies to not be sitting in one. The next regulation for the left loons to go after are cell phones in your car (already prohibited in some areas) and fast food regulations. Your freedoms are being taken away at a steady pace with hardly a squeak from the left (and by the left), but we can't lose our right to call Habeeb, huh? If we're so all concerned about this plight of global warming, Why is the United States that has the BEST pollution control technology in use asked to limit their CO2 emission, while Communist China that uses virtually no emission controls and is using greater and greater amounts of energy not even covered under the Kyoto Accord? Do you think China will do anything to improve just because the US forces their people to drive electric cars? Ah and finally, lets just check up on the likes of James Hansen (I knew it wouldn't take long for the blogger's to find the untold story), the NASA climatologist that was the subject of the 60 Minutes piece this past Sunday that started this. Seems he has been so squashed by the Bush administration that he gave a speech in Iowa for the campaign of John Kerry saying that George Bush's policies would cause an environmental disaster. He also received $250,000 from Mrs. Kerry foundation. Did Scott Pelly make these points on his 60 Minutes hit piece? Once again the Mainstream Media has told you what they want you to hear, thank God they're losing their grip. How long are you willing to listen? *********************************************** If This Is "Muzzled," What Does "Silenced" Look Like? Media Blog Stephen Spruiell Reporting This post on liberal blog Think Progress — "How The Bush Administration Muzzles The Government’s Top Global Warming Scientist" — is self-evidently ludicrous. The administration is doing such a good job of "muzzling" global warming evangelist James Hansen of NASA, he could only find a forum for his criticisms on 60 Minutes. Another example of how the administration has cruelly muzzled Hansen: Right before the 2004 presidential election, he traveled to Iowa and delivered a speech in which he declared that the policies of George W. Bush would create an environmental disaster, and so he planned to vote for John Kerry. Hansen, who received a $250,000 award from the Mrs. John Kerry Foundation in 2001, next faced the harsh muzzle of the Bush administration when the New York Times did a puff piece about how NASA was trying to silence him. The Media Blog hears that Sunday's one-sided 60 Minutes story — not the first time correspondent Scott Pelley has seen no need to challenge the climate-change fear-mongers he promotes — was just the beginning of global-warming media blitz in the coming weeks.
