It was Kimba Wood, and she got run off for her theory that black Americans should have extra votes to compensate for slavery and discrimination.

The Democrats decided that they should not try to defend her, though it seems they DID adopt her ideas for the 2000 election...

The infamous nannygate.

People who are rich enough to need a nanny are rich enough to pay the nanny tax.

My parents were not rich, but Dad had a business and Mom helped with it. When they hired a nanny to watch me and my siblings during the day, they paid social security taxes for her and the whole nine yards for the many years that she watched over us. If they had not done that, the poor woman would have had no retirement income at all.

She was not a nanny to us, she was more like a grandmother. Her name was Esther Warner. We called her Warnie, and loved her.
