Alcatel Subsidiary Wins Satellite Contract in North America

March 17, 2006 Alcatel Alenia Space, an Alcatel company, announced that it has been awarded a contract to deliver the Ciel-2 telecommunication satellite to Ciel Satellite of Canada. Based on Alcatel Alenia Space Spacebus 4000 C4, Ciel-2 will be fitted with 32 Ku-band frequencies, configured into regional and spot beams maximizing the frequency reuse up to nine times. At the beginning of its operational life, the spacecraft's payload power will be 10.8 kW and will be positioned at 129 degrees west. Ciel-2 is due to start delivering services into North America in the later part of 2008, with a life time of 16 years. Alcatel Wins Contract with Yemen Telecom

March 16, 2006 Alcatel announced that it has been awarded a contract by Yemen Telecom, a Yemen-based telecommunications service provider, to supply and integrate a network operation center for its fixed line and mobile networks. Alcatel will be responsible for the implementation of the whole solution including the design, integration, and installation and commissioning services. Further details were not disclosed. Telenor Selects Alcatel as Supplier of Access Platform for its All IP Network

March 14, 2006 Alcatel announced that it has signed an agreement with Telenor, a Norwegian telecommunications service provider, to supply its IP broadband services access platform in order to support Telenor's "All IP" network. The Alcatel solution will enable Telenor to offer its customers high bandwidth triple play services such as IPTV, video on demand, and HDTV. Deutsche Telekom Deploys Alcatel's Solution

March 10, 2006 Alcatel announced that its IP portfolio is being deployed by T-Com, the broadband and fixed network unit of Deutsche Telekom in 10 major German cities including Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and Stuttgart. The Alcatel IP/MPLS-based portfolio will be a part of the platform for services such as IPTV and interactive consumer services. Alcatel Awarded Euro 50 Million Contract by RFF

March 09, 2006 Alcatel announced that it has been awarded a framework contract valued at EUR 50 million by RFF (Reseau Ferre de France) to modernize the French national railway network. Alcatel's PAING solution, a next-generation electronic interlocking system, will be used to renew the interlocking systems at French railway junctions. Sakhatelecom Selects Alcatel to Deploy a Next Generation Network

March 07, 2006 Alcatel announced that it has signed a contract with Sakhatelecom, one of the regional incumbent operators in Russia, to deploy a next-generation network in the Republic of Sakha, also known as Yakutiya. The project will start in the second quarter of 2006 in the cities of Yakutsk and Mirny and is scheduled for completion by the end of the year. Alcatel And BT Sign 21st Century Network Contract

March 06, 2006 Alcatel announced that it has successfully completed contract negotiations with BT, confirming Alcatel's participation as one of the preferred suppliers to the operator's next-generation network transformation program, the 21st Century Network (21CN). Alcatel will provide its 7750 Service Router and 5620 Service Aware Manager for 21CN's Metro node. Comcor Chooses to Deploy Alcatel Solution
