Have been able to view the two charts side by side and right you are, the JPEG looks a lot worse.

Download DropJPG. Drag and drop it into your Applications folder. Then simply drag and drop the TIFF files onto the DropJPG icon. A copy of your TIFF will appear on your desktop with a .jpg ending, and it will look identical to the original .tif. Just tested it with your TIFF chart.

You can then drag and drop the DropJPG application icon onto your Dock, so in the future you can drag and drop the TIFF files onto the DropJPG icon in the Dock and bingo, JPG copy done. :-)
