I am trying to remember ...

... well, i first got interested in platinum coins, because many of my friends collect things (carpets, books, photos, antique bonds, stamps, and ming dynasty furniture), and i did not want to be left out, but also did not wish to be burdened with stuff that is fragile and not liquid, and so settled on platinum bullion coins

then the banks stopped selling platinum, and so i gravitated to gold bullion

during the transition, i remembered an old man neighbor from way back who had shown me his hoard of gold bullion (about a duffle bag in volume) one day, when i was just out of college and did not know gold from sh*t, and realized that old guy was always going to be ok, come hell or high water

full transition happened in late 1999, when I started to fear the nasdaq, and read a few books about financial mania achamchen.com (Devil Takes the Hindmost)

The belief turned into conviction when gold rose in accordance with the prophecy :0)
