Then they would be in majority control of congress, and we would be in a condition of DIVIDED GOVERNMENT.

Hopefully 'gridlock' would ensue, and very little increases in spending would make it into law, as both sides would fight with each other to a draw.

(My guess is Bush II' 'veto pen' would not only have been broken out of storage, but might be on it's second ink cartridge by now. :) And you would be hailing Bush II for all of his 'restraint on spending' right about now.)
