If I believe the Creator referred to in the Constitution is the Great Spirit of Native American beliefs, and the Catholic next to me believes it is Jehovah, and yet we are able to agree on the existence of the inalienable rights....if not on the point of whether his concept of God or mine bequeathed them, we will be o.k. We can live together.

If it becomes necessary to state more affirmatively that his God (or mine) is the source, what follows will be turmoil, as not just the existence of the rights must now be acknowledged but how the specific Creator intended the rights to be exercised. The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is sowing the wind right now..and may reap the whirlwind later on this very point.

Do fundamentalist Christians believe in theocracy? I don't think so.

yet the left is trying to reshape us into the defective model of all the other countries

How so? From my perspective, the radical religious right is doing the same, trying to turn us into a theocracy. Do you mean the radical left, like communists and socialists? I think the main stream left (and right) finds democracy works just fine.

"I'm simply pointing out how come the United States is so different from all other countries... with all other countries, their laws are all man made."

Aren't there many, many, many countries (now, and down through the history books) who claim that their laws are handed down by God? (In fact, probably more then who claim an 'earthly origin, of man' for their laws....)
