I have great affection for bush dating back to his visit to NYC after the terror attack. As one who was standing across the street when the second plane hit, i imagine i was traumatized by the experience. I still hava flashback experiences and go to Manhattan as little as possible.
Anyway so i still have affection for the man but now i feel sorry for him as well. I think it will be up to the historians to judge iraq--the raison d' etre etc. But one thing is crystal clear to me now--this admin has been modeled on corporate america and i never thought that to be a good model for governance. But if one chooses that model, they need to be competent and quick on their feet. No Bush admin is not enron--its more like GM building the suvs until the last second. If you are to be corporate, you need to hold folks accountable. No, the president/ceo cant be fired although he deserves to be and would be in the private sector but the staff and cabinet members who failed should be long gone. I think Bushes model actually is the Texas Rangers baseball team and they too seemed always mired in the cellar. And the real horror story is that this management team aint goin anywhere for three more years. Mike
