The 'former'? (You mean God given laws implemented by government as you say, or God given rights which, hopefully, the government is trying to protect in society?)

(PS --- I feel confident that any LAW authentically from GOD would *respect* all RIGHTS given by GOD... for, how could it be otherwise?)

Interesting question though: If a government declares that 'God' gave you 'these' rights... or declares that 'God' did NOT give you 'those' rights... what's the difference? In both cases it's a *government* expressing it's opinion about what 'God' wants....

(I realize that, ultimately, one has to find for oneself God's message... not look to *governments* to interpret or mediate for you --- uggh. Still, it's nice to have a government that believes that certain human rights are 'inalienable', and spring from a deeper wellspring then mere whim of man....)
