"Which I think is stupid. Screw neutrality, just say "this is my opinion". Teachers are people, people have opinions."

Won't work. There are groups who are gunning for teachers with the 'wrong' opinions. And this guy, most assuredly, has the wrong opinions.

re: I guess you must do it with a great deal of effort to give the appearance of neutrality. This teacher may lose his job over this issue.

Which I think is stupid. Screw neutrality, just say "this is my opinion". Teachers are people, people have opinions. High school kids are smart enough to form their own opinions.... but not if they don't hear what other people think.

The whole world doesn't have to be like a damned CNN anchor, always covering your ass with neutrality.

No need to respond.......CJ said it well in his post on the subject.

I wonder to what degree you would encourage freedom of speech in schools or think there should be no limits. It seems to me that you are of an opinion that there should be no limit to what teachers can say to kids because if you would impose any sort of boundaries it is no longer about freedom of speech but rather where would you draw the line
