Tonto -

The government has grown by leaps and bounds under the Bush administration, with a Republican congress. It's bigger than it has ever been. So claiming that the Democrats are the Big Government party is old hat.

And on a related subject, while it is true that reducing taxes may increase revenues somewhat, it has never been shown that revenues will increase by the amount of the tax reduction. Remember that taxes had to be raised during the first Bush administration, because the Reagan tax cuts hadn't generated enough extra revenue to pay for themselves.

It's irresponsible to spend money you don't have.
