America was founded UNDER GOD, and excludes the insane, whether their insanity stems from atheism, Islam, homosexuality, serial killing, or just plain hate for the American ideal. I suppose a parent that was trying to teach their child atheism would feel violated that their child was forced to hear 'under God' as part of a patriotic pledge, Take the reverse... a parent trying to teach religion only to find out that "under God" is being removed from the Pledge, they would find it offensive... so, who do you please? Yes, it was a relatively recent addition, but it doesn't make it any less meaningful... it's already in the Pledge now, and to remove it only creates a firestorm among Americans today... so just leave it alone... GZ
