Such atrocities can happen in any war. It does not make the war bad, or the rest of the military bad (Korea and WWII saw some US misconduct in the field). It can merely mean that the wrong man was in the wrong place at the wrong time- and that can happen to any military during any war. I'm sure a thorough investigation will bring to light what happened- and then we will know- but it certainly is possible that it happened.
