"They sure as hell aren't doing any leading either"

That is only because you depend on the media for direction. Yes, neither the MSM or their right wing analogs show much. But if you peruse the Democrats web sites, you see a lot of proposals. They just don't get much play in the "liberal dominated media". Reflect on this...

Liberals haven't really dominated the media for decades.

Well, tejek, you should ask your Democrats what to do. They sure as hell aren't doing any leading either. Bush is leading, but he's leading us in the wrong direction. And the Democrats are not leading at all. They have no goals, no platform, no ideas. It's all about hating Bush, and Americans won't vote for a party with no platform.

Unfortunately, its the more powerful Dems who are confused......they were the ones who voted for the war. Dem senators like Senator Murray of WA state voted against the war, but she doesn't have any clout.

You give me one guy or gal, JUST ONE, who will stand up and say, "I will lead this nation out of war and off of our dependence on oil and I will do everything in my power over the next 8 years to set the foundation in place to make oil irrelevent within 20 years." Give me one person who will say that and mean it and I'll vote for him no matter what party he claims to be in.

I may be wrong but I think Obama is real close to making that kind of stand.

There is no single issue that means more to this country than that one. Everything else is immaterial in comparison.

Unfortunately, I don't think the majority of Americans are behind it....not yet. Its a very progressive way of thinking.
