Let's assume for discussion that Israel is attacked the year after President Bush leaves office. If the new president is a Republican, he or she will accept responsibility for acting appropriately. If the new president is a democrat, dollars to donuts he or she will blame Bush.

Democrats in congress will blame Bush. The press will blame Bush.

Kumar, I think you SERIOUSLY underestimate the USA and its actions. If Israel were nuked by anyone, but especially a country like Iran we would honor our committments and IMMEDIATELY implement our strike back option. Same is true of North Korea who has just threatened us. I would bet we have several nuclear tipped missles aimed right at the capital of NK this very moment. Its dangerous to underestimate our resolve, others have done so to their regret. jdn

regardless of what party is in office it is hard, not to believe, u.s. would not take military action , even nuke Iran if Israel was nuked by Iran.
