Helen Thomas's question was hostile and framed to provoke, and the President's reply was civil and firm.

The Downing Street Memo is a platform of thin ice that the anti-Bush camp stands on. They have never shown a single shred of evidence that the President "wanted" war. On the contrary, I think he would have preferred to pursue his economic development and educational goals.

Helen asked an intentionally inflammatory and accusatory question, and Bush politely told her that her question was not valid... anyone can ask a presumptive question, those kinds of questions aren't valid and cannot be answered... here's such a question: Does your mother know you're a lesbian? If you're not a lesbian, then how can the initial question be valid? This is what Helen did with Bush, and she knows what she did... she showed herself to be a populist news whore, nothing more... a shame on her, she should know and behave better than that...
