And a wise-crack was all it took for them to acquire the Promised Land or, at least, the first step to it. They certainly did not need the Messiah when they had an important British politician in their pocket. So, what I cannot understand is why they still want to be Jewish when they have violated the fundamental basis of their Covenant and have, by other means, achieved the outcome for which the Jewish religion was intended? Presumably, they think that "their" God doesn't know what they have done. They have even outsmarted Him.
