Is there a pool? I think 10 years, less the time served now for this one. Of course, having to even qualify it as "for this one" (as felony convictions go) says something in itself. Statistically speaking, John Gotti had a cleaner record until his last trial that put him away for good.

I will take a stab at Tony's sentencing, ...

One year for each of the 11 counts he was found guilty = 11 years + 4 years for boarding the airplane with false IDs, and lying to airport officials.

Tony has 3 young kids. Judge Dearie will take that into consideration and knock off 2 years for each kid. That will reduce his sentencing from 15 years to 9 years.

With good behavior, he will served 5 of those 9 years and will be out on parole. Tony already served 2 years since 2004. Without any more stupid stunt from his jail cell, he should be out in 2009.

Does it sound like a fair sentencing?

Well, I was close:

Jeff>>"So what's your prediction for his sentence?"
MrB>>"I think 10 years, less the time served now for this one."

Off by 15 months. I do wonder, however, will this particular prison sentence be the one that convinces him that prison is no fun? Previous convictions didn't seem to have any effect. I mean, geez, at least listen to The Wife for once, "Honey, could you puhleeze just quit going to prison repeatedly, for once ... it kinda affects the family life, ya know ...?"

Today's message is brought to you by the letter, "R", as in:
Recidivism
Rearrest
Reconviction
(no) Remorse
Reincarceration
Rhubarb

Since we're on predictions --- what's your prediction for Pugs showing up soon, so cleverly disguised as he so often does? <g> I think he'll show up as either a doorknob, a pilot, or a tree. Or perhaps a French medical student, or even his own stepfather. So many options.
