True, a sextant would require a view of the sun, unavailable under water. I don't recall a sextant in "Hunt," but it could be just my old memory.

There were many things that were not in-line with reality as I know it. Things like, there is no way on earth (or under its oceans) that you're going to navigate an underwater canyon at high speed with a watch and a sextant.

How would a sextant work in a submarine in any event?
