OT, Thanks for asking . . . darn truck with furniture is running behind schedule. Paid too little and got what I paid for in a mover, apparently. Dorann is pissed about that, but it should be here today or tomorrow.

The house is not completely perfect, despite being less than 2 years old. Landscaping, nada, and much tumbleweed to deal with. Upgrades need to be done, a second oven, for one. New faucet if not new sink for kitchen (Dorann yanked too hard on the spray hose last night and busted the cheap thing at its fitting). Utterly bizarre paint jobs in certain rooms (talking electric pink, for example). But Dorann's a good painter and that will be addressed when we get back from honeymoon in Bonair.

And so on; nothing new to long time homeowners, I'm sure. In the case of this house, the former owner -- a fellow from India -- seems to have changed plans before he finished building. He sold because he wanted to buy a convenience store several towns away. I get the impression that when he made that decision, he stopped putting nice fixtures in. So some are quite good -- the one oven heats up amazingly fast, for example. And others are cheesy, like the kitchen faucet.

So plenty for us to do. Settling in is going to take some time.

Cheers, Tuck
