There is global warming every day. There is global warming every spring through summer. No one knows anymore than that. Are man made green house gases seriously changing the normal variance in nature, it is possible, but no one knows with what degree. There are many good economic reasons to develop alternatives for providing energy and for using any energy source more efficiently. In any case, the US percent of total generation of the green house gases is going to become a smaller and smaller percentage of the worlds. Even if the US is increasing it's total generation.
