Here's an impossible scenario. Let's say there was a military union and of course soldiers can't do that, but for the example. Our imaginary military union is strictly voluntary and the member dues come from soldier's paychecks. It just happens though that the military union is hawkish and contributes primarily to the Republican Party. Certainly many people would find this annoying.
