"spending Social Security trust funds, and other trust money."

Exactly. Sell off the forest to the Chinese, create a mountainous debt to the Chinese. What is the difference?

The excessive debt and trade deficit are likely to cause a decline in the purchasing power of the dollar. We will have to (assuming we ever do) repay with mor expensive money. This is like being a debtor in deflationary times. It is a very bad idea.

I am beginning to cotton to the Democrat ideal of tax and spend. It may be better than borrow and spend.
