Gus > When life gets difficult and we feel that God's long silence must indicate He has abandoned us, we must remember the lesson of the exodus: God is not simple, but He does keep His promises.

That's the whole point -- the Jews didn't keep their promise ie the Covenant. They didn't wait in exile for the Messiah to take them to the Promised Land -- they simply took it by tricks and by force. Which is the reason for my question -- What is the point of being Jewish when the basis for the religion is already moot? As religious Jews would argue, Zionists are atheists whose whole purpose was to destroy the religion. But, as I would argue, what's the point of being a religious Jew when the State of Israel is already a fait accomplis, whether they like it or not?

>>Zionism is an ideology that seeks to define itself in ethno-national terms, i.e., Jewish. It is a racist designation that is BY DEFINITION a racist construct. Zionism is not a religious ideology - for many Zionists are atheists (note David Ben Gurion, first Prime Minister of Israel). Zionism is exclusionary by definition. The fact that so few people understand this is a testament to the blockade that mainstream media puts on this discussion.<<
