Joseph Stiglitz, the Nobel Prize-winning economist, and a colleague at Harvard have put together a real Pentagon budget which, for the wars we're fighting right now, comes out to about $2 trillion. I saw an analysis which showed that the US fiscal deficit of $7 trillion, anyway most of it, can be accounted for almost entirely by military expenditure. And at the top of the pile sit the neocons at the Pentagon, writing US policy documents for the next century. And this is called a democracy -- or is it a constitutional republic, I can't remember which?
