I saw an analysis which showed that the US fiscal deficit of $7 trillion, anyway most of it, can be accounted for almost entirely by military expenditure. And at the top of the pile sit the neocons at the Pentagon, writing US policy documents for the next century. And this is called a democracy -- or is it a constitutional republic, I can't remember which?
