I think it's true that Conservative politics are based upon fear. Conservative economics are based upon greed. You can see it in their phrases. Conservatives always say liberals have their heads in the clouds and aren't practical, while they, the pragmatists, are vigliantly looking for mythical reds, and now, mythical terrorists, under the bed. Liberal economics seeks what is good for the planet and the nation and humanity. Conservatives look for what lines their pockets. Despite the fact that I have slimed Conservatives forever, I think you need both sides to make the world and the country work. Neocons are a different case, as they are simply evil gnomes. But Bill Buckley and Barry Goldwater type conservatives add the sour to the sweet and sour sauce, without which I won't eat the shrimp. <G>
