LOL!

(Hey, I'm sure Whabbists and terrorists of al Qaeda's ilk have been to most every country on earth, including ours..., and have at one time or another actually had contacts with government officials at one level or another.)

For example: the Emir of Dubai was 'hunting' with bin Laden when we wanted to take bin Laden out with a missile... some of the jihadists in the bin Laden organization actually received training at the School of the Americas in Georgia back when we were helping to train them to kill Soviets in Afghanistan.

I have little doubt that their contacts in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Gulf Emirates, Yemen, Sudan, etc., etc., etc., are fairly comprehensive.

I have no doubt either that the Sunni-leaning jihadists like al Qaeda tried constantly to build up a network inside Iraq --- but to all accounts that was one of the most difficult 'Islamic' nations for them to operate in... being relatively secular (the most secular in the region under Saddam) and also because Saddam had that little annoying habit of torturing and killing all he could catch whom he imagined could possibly threaten him politically... and that MOST DEFINITELY included jihadist groups.

But to try to make out a case that Saddam had EXTRA SPECIAL WARM and FRIENDLY RELATIONS with al Qaeda, is simply to try an push a BIG LIE.
