The UN is exactly what we needed in Iraq. The reason things are halfway Ok in Afghanistan is because we have the Europeans handling many of the biggest responsibilities, under the auspieces of the UN and NATO.

Bushies snubbing their noses at the UN is partly what caused Bush's failed quagmire. We cannot occupy hguge countries by ourselves, it's idiotic to believe we can. And Iraq never attacked us anyway, so why are we really there?

Also, Bushies accusing the UN of being corrupt was like the stove calling the kettle black. Bushie corruption is much bigger and more damaging than anything the UN could do in 100 years. Also, the UN has been cleared of most of those trumped-up charges.
