As far as changing the ME, having a Kurdish state which is secular sitting in the middle of it seems like a heaven sent gift. They'ed have enough oil, and seem inclined to run a functional government, so why not help them?

Might have to help finance a wall to keep Pal#2 Sunnis out:)

Steve is right--it doesnt appear things will change much.

Mike, how much change has occurred in our history because we relegated ourselves to "that's just the way it is"??

Change doesn't come without effort, and often sacrifice.

It certainly doesn't won't happen if we permit those who would work against such change, a free hand to oppose it.
