I agree on all points -- today the US is out in front. But to stay out in front is different than to be out in front. Ten years ago we were so far out in front that nobody else was even in view. Now we look over our shoulders and see competition -- real competition. And this will only intensify. My position is that we must engage the global economy -- and not try to call off the race. Can we compete? Of course we can! We just cannot take it for granted.
