Brandon Powell's situation is tragic but it doesn't say anything about the conflict in Iraq except for those that would argue that any conflict that results in any severe injury or death is automatically a mistake. In almost every military conflict, even very tiny ones someone gets hurt badly or killed. If the Iraq invasion was the best and most appropriate use of force in the history of mankind you would be able to point out someone in Powell's situation, and if it was the worst mistake ever made with our military you would also be able to find such examples. Pointing them out doesn't address the overall issue one way or the other.
