In my experience I have noted that if you behave badly people will put you on ignore. But of course experiences will differ, as well as attempts at self justification. I assume that the people who have me on ignore probably found my behavior annoying, and it had very little to do with my message. "Truth" isn't something we see much of on SI- on SI it's mostly "opinions"- although some people do confuse the two, and then some of the people who confuse the two determinedly attack people who don't agree that their opinion equals "truth". Such people who continually attack, and confuse the personal, with discussions of events and ideas, are not much fun to talk to, and in fact it can be downright unpleasant to deal with them- although when two such people meet up, and share a similar interest in rolling in the mud, I'm sure it can be fun or satisfying for the two parties who share that interest (on a par with sadomasochism- in that it's all about meeting the right partner.)

We will just have to disagree if you think huge numbers of ignores don't say something about the behavior of a poster. I understand the temptation to believe that it's not about the numbers, but to give in to that temptation doesn't seem very logical to me.

Well said jla.

The same can be said about bans. Look at how the leftist sites on SI consistently have the highest ban to bookmark ratios (including Dale's faux 'View from the Center' thread). The only "truth" they want is their version of it.... regardless of the facts.

Given that reality, conservatives who aren't afraid of taking on leftist propaganda with facts & credible evidence are going to have high ratios of ignores & bans to PeopleMarks.

I see the high ignore/PeopleMark ratio is being spun as people who "behave badly" & those "who continually attack". Having been down this route many times before, that kind of "self justification" doesn't jive with actual events.

So much for the leftist claims of embracing tolerance, diversity, inclusion & the staunch defense of free speech.

And yes, all the usual caveats apply, including the exceptions to the rule, blah, blah, blah.

Folks ignore me too. I used to feel bad. Now its a badge of honor. Hell and i am a moderate and i have equal numbers of bans from the right as from the left i suspect.
