Personally I have no idea why NASA has any plans at all to go to IO, Jupiter's rocky atmospheric moon. They should know better. I staked IO by laser pointer and registered it with the Arizona Mines Department and Land Registry Office about ten years ago. Assessment work is a bitch but it gets handed in every year faithfully. We have plans to draft a letter and send a caution to potential trespassers shortly. We may sieze the space craft when it lands.
