You are absolutely right and with each year over year flat or increase in software sales there are increased subscription for maintenance contracts. What most people are missing is that over 1/2 of Oracle's revenue is from subscriptions. Duh, don't you think that should be the the first income line statement people should look at? Also, the margins on support are the best in the companies product mix. For those who hang on to the stock for the long run they will be richly rewarded. We are seeing the beginning of the richest subscription model company (i.e., utility) in IT.
