Nadine, not much new there. Megalomaniacs all seem to be prone to such delusions. It seems to go with the need to acquire and wield power. Democracy, fortunately, cuts the fatal feedback loop, so if Americans decide that King George II was full of it, then they'll ditch him quickly.

He should have stuck with sorting out Afghanistan properly and leaving Saddam for the NUN which he could have worked on, which he hasn't, thereby choosing a foolish path to failure. He might persevere in Iraq and might even succeed if Americans think it's worthwhile, which is questionable.

When what the mob is told doesn't match reality, like Saddam's glorious troops, they make a unilateral decision to abandon ship, whether they live in Iraq or USA.
