I hadn't heard it either...it just occurred to me and it makes sense. ALl that ice melting will make alot of water that will be heavier than the ice.

I am not a Geologist so I don't know if it's a worry or not.

There is a Geologist who claims that the increase weight of high tides creates a rocking motion of the earth's crust and helps cause earthquakes. According to him, millions of tons of weight come in and go out during an unusually high tide and may trigger faults.

Jim Berkland predicts earthquakes using many things and high tides is one of those things.
