All I've done is CLL, and it went through like a charm. Still have to figure their reporting system and how they make the jump from Can$ to US$. I'm encouraged enough to send them more funds, I started off with a token $5K. I sure wish they had a more liberal policy on allowing trading against ACH transfers without the 4 business days wait.

Alan, RE: Interactive Brokers

I have been able to easily purchase and sell shares on Toronto, Toronto Venture, London, Stuttgart and Frankfurt (XETRA) exchanges. Notwithstanding IB's television advertising, US residents cannot trade in Korea, Sydney or Tokyo.

Commissions for TSX, LSE & XETRA are slightly higher than for US exchanges (e.g., it costs $1 to buy or sell 200 shares of ECA in US but $2 on TSX).

IB currently paying 4.359% interest on cash balances over $100,000. Since I write options against cash (and a few L-T holdings) the interest received is a nice bonus.

The "big hitters" (not me) use IB for futures and Forex.
