Attacks analyzed: In a rundown of recent military activity, Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, the U.S. military spokesman, said Thursday in Baghdad that most violence was focused in three of the country's 18 provinces. "There is not widespread violence across Iraq. There is not. Seventy-five percent of the attacks still take place in Baghdad, al-Anbar or Salaheddin (provinces)."

Duh! Looks like after the competent ones like Shinseki have been fired, we are left with imbeciles like Rick Lynch left in the military...

So 75% of the violence was focused in the three provinces. How much of Iraq's population lives in those 3 provinces? How close to 75% would that be?

And secondly, even tinpot dictators taking over small countries with the help of some 200 thugs in 40 SUVs armed with AK-47s know that if they can't control the capital, they don't control the country.
