Growing up in South Louisiana I do have an appreciation for the fact that it's a water planet. Most of the land down there is half water anyway. And I've seen the erosion with my own eyes.

This would be, of course, unprecedented in our lifetimes. But maybe we'll finally learn from this particular mistake.

We've only been human beings for such a short time, comparatively. Less than 5,000 years of reading and writing so as to be able to pass down memories.

This part -- flooding of the coasts -- doesn't worry me. It's the glaciers coming back that worries me. I won't be around for that one, knock wood.
