Six people dead in Seattle shooting

The Associated Press

SEATTLE – At least six people were killed in a shooting early today at a home in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, Seattle Police said.

Three other victims were taken to a Seattle hospital for treatment, said police spokesman Rich Pruitt.

"We're interviewing close to 20 witnesses — some from the house, some from surrounding areas," Pruitt said, adding that the shooting did not immediately appear to be an incident of domestic violence.

Police believe one of the dead was the gunman.

Homicide detectives had just arrived on the scene at about 8:25 a.m. Pruitt said it was too early to provide any more details about the shooting.

"It's really, really early," he said.
