If, to avoid inflation, interest rates here are raised, the drop in NZD will accelerate.

higher interest rates tend to support currencies.

the kilograms of "value" in a QCOM share

QCOM has lost more than 50% of its value vs. dollars in a mattress since its opening price of $100 (split-adjusted) on Jan 3, 2000. in inflation-adjusted terms, it has lost closer to two-thirds of its value. compared to QCOM, NZD is a great winner in the 21st century. it also pays 7% interest so i think it will outperform QCOM (which pays less than 1%) over the coming decade.
