So Bill, help me understand. You would oppose a person who wants to get away from Sharia, is qualified in all other respects, from being a legal migrant to the USA, when that person applies for a legal visa ?

Perhaps, perhaps not. You're probably right in a general sense, but I would certainly not discount the existence of pockets of radicalism in the US.

But I think that Kumar's point was that lack of exposure to Sharia and Islamism would lead to abandonment of the more militant ideas. I'm not sure that is the case, especially when the exposure is not general and societal but limited to self-reinforcing groups. That can take place anywhere.
