We CAN NOT assume any such thing, kumar. Especially after 9-11. One would think that people would finally "get it." How many BILLIONS do we have to spend to protect our borders, when with the other eye shut, we are allowing MILLIONS to flood in...??? And BTW...remember how many Congressmen/women have been ripped apart because of hiring an illegal, and/or not paying Social Security?????? No, we MUST get our laws straighted up quickly. 1. I assume someone is legal if they are in the country.

I assume someone is legal if they are in the country" i'm confused because someone is in the country that makes them legal? are you talking a proposed bill? i know of nothing that makes a person legal who comes here under pretext of vacation and remains. or someone who works on ships etc and when they get into ports take off and remain in the country. ( i can remember tankers from far east in 60's would always lose three to six workers after docking at terminal in a year. in those days their was no security or customs agents to check out every ship that arrived at terminals). are we saying these people are legal although they jumped over everyone who wanted to go through the proper procedures to get into the country and may even have criminal records and would never have been allowed into the country in the first place.
