"Lets say US population is 300M. Lets say 5% are crooks of one kind or another. What number do we end up with ?" At least we have 2 million behind bars. How about the 10% of radical muslims? That comes to about 130 million of which only a few thousand are incarcerated.

I don't think the number of crooks in the USA is anywhere near that, but even a few thousand is too many, in my opinion. Here is a link that shows that over one million are incarcerated and over four million are on probation. ojp.usdoj.gov I believe the USA has one of the highest incarceration rates of any major country, which some view as a pejorative attribute. Personally, I think it is just getting the job done better than other countries. I was actually startled by the 5% figure, which is why I asked you about it. I do not believe that such a statistic is tolerable, and if I were responsible for law and order in a country I would take some kind of action. My mother and stepfather had a young Muslim woman from Somalia working as in-home care for awhile. My stepfather thought she was the greatest.
